Lake Rausu is located close to Shiretoko path, at an altitude of 600 to 700 m, the environment is equivalent to 2000 to 2500 m in central Honshu.
On the way to lake Rausu, we discover  four ponds with very different atmospheres, enjoy encounters with alpine plants and wetland plants.
We feel the richness of Shiretoko unique environment and progress in the wildlife sanctuary home of the famous ezo brown bear, red fox and ezo shika deer.

Finally we reach the lake Rausu, the mysterious lake.

ITINERARY
Example of tour time itinerary:

9:00 Pick up from JR Shiretoko Shari station.
10:30 30 Trekking to Lake Rausu.
14:30 Back to trail entrance.
16:00 Move back to JR Shiretoko Shari.

I will pick you up at Shiretoko Shari train station, or in Utoro if you are staying there.

WHAT’S INCLUDED
Guiding Services
Hiking boots (give me your shoe size in advance)
are necessary because we hike in wetland.
No toilets on the way to the lake but I’m carrying emergency toilet.

RESTRICTIONS

Hike is accessible  to all but it is 4 hours long and requires to be in  good health condition.
